MEET THE GREENS
Virgil Green | Co-Founder
Virgil is a 10-year NFL Tight-End veteran. He played for the Denver Broncos for seven years after getting drafted in 2011 and helped the Broncos become Super Bowl 50 Champions. In 2018 he was signed with the LA Chargers and played three seasons before retiring in 2021. He received his Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice on a full-ride football scholarship at the University of Nevada from 2006-2010. Virgil supports nonprofits that explore mentorship and promote athletics as a way to develop life skills. He’s interested in organizations connected to his hometown and the surrounding areas in the Central Valley of California, Northern Nevada, where he attended college, and his wife’s hometown in Yakima, WA. His passion comes from God, his football career, spreading the knowledge of what daily exercise and health can do, and the importance of teaching our youth to believe in themselves and follow their dreams. Virgil has been an active member in the Central Valley and Northern Nevada communities working with various non-profits, schools, and additional programs for children.
Marianne Green | Co-Founder | Executive Director
Marianne is extremely passionate about helping people. She began her career as an auditor at JDS Professional Group where her dream of creating a non-profit flourished. She attended the University of Nevada on a full-ride basketball scholarship and graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She currently spends her time raising her and Virgil’s children, Virgil and Gianna. She and Christina, her sister-in-law, have a ministry with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes that instills hope, guidance, and confidence in women and girls in Northern Nevada through workouts and worship. Marianne has been involved with numerous non-profits throughout Virgil’s NFL career and is elated to give back to communities that have meant so much to her. She believes that her basketball career helped her accomplish her goals and stay focused. She wants to offer sports as an outlet for our youth and give them opportunities to accomplish dreams that they think wouldn’t be possible.
Christina Green | Development Coordinator | Program Trainer
Christina is the Development Coordinator and Program Trainer for the Green Family Foundation. Christina's passion has always been helping and serving others. She graduated from the University of Nevada in 2013 where she studied Sports Broadcasting and Communications. She was also a member of the women's basketball team from 2009-2012. Christina is a NASM and AFPA-certified personal trainer. She spends her days training clients of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Her desire is for all people to find hope and joy through exercise, fitness, and athletics. Christina enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends, and is an avid runner and lover of all things working out!
Jeremiah Green | Program Coordinator | Program Trainer
Jeremiah holds an extensive background in Performance Enhancement Specialties and athletic training. His desire is to coach young people to gain confidence through skills and drills training, as well as impart real-life wisdom to kids of all ages. He was signed to the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2014, earned a full-ride scholarship to play football at the University of Nevada From 2010 to 2012, and played at the College of Sequoias in 2009. Jeremiah has a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Jeremiah is full of passion, discipline, and energy. He is excited to help and guide the youth in our communities.
